A New Short Story and My ~Fancy~ Presskit!

Thursday, February 1, 2018

This week is just a short post because the past few weeks have been a hectic time! But I wanted to celebrate the accomplishments that have happened in that time.

First, I (finally) put together a presskit! It's been a long time in coming and it was actually an enjoyable experience to reflect on all the cool shows and projects I've been a part of. You can see that presskit here.

And second, my short story "To Whom We Return," has come out in TAYO Magazine! It's a little fright, and sitting alongside some of my favorite talented friends in poetry and prose, so be sure to check out the whole issue.

TAYO Issue Seven cover page with artwork of three light-skinned Asian people whose upper bodies are made of building materials.

More to come!

Research Update: Layers of Analysis

Wednesday, August 1, 2012

I'm coming up on the end of my stay here in Bangladesh, and I must admit that it's been a very up and down ride. High points (like learning Bengali, spending time with family, seeing amazing locales, shopping, learning a lot) and low points (like getting your arm partially eaten by a cockroach - literally the worst). But one thing that has been consistent throughout is the work I've been doing, not only on my own projects, but on my larger goal of researching perceptions of madness/mental illness.

On Location: Active Minds Conference & Feminist Zine Fest

Thursday, February 23, 2012

This weekend, I will be all over the place.

First, I am going to the Active Minds conference to present my preliminary research on Asian American women in college and their attitudes towards mental health and counseling. The conference is going to be in DC, so I'll be getting up very early and coming back very late from said journey, but it will be a great experience. A full recap (and brief on my research) will come next week!

Then Saturday, I will be tabling with the Barnard Zine Library at the Feminist Zine Fest in Brooklyn! Come say hi and get a zine from me, if you so desire (and are in the NYC area).

Anyway, on that note, regular blogging will resume Monday, when all these things are through. Enjoy your weekend!
